Accessibility Statement
Effective September 30, 2026
1. Our commitment
Everyone applying for a job deserves to see where they stand, and that includes people with disabilities. Ascent is committed to providing its services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities, in line with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards.
We design and build Ascent to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Level AA, the standard Ontario sets for websites, and we work toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
2. Built into Ascent
- A Larger text setting, available from the Accessibility menu at the bottom of our home page and in your account.
- A Calm display with softer, lower-saturation colours and no looping animation, as well as a dark mode.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, Ascent’s animations stop, including the drifting features list.
- Form fields and controls are labelled for screen readers, and pages can be used with a keyboard. Recruiters can move candidates between stages with checkboxes and an Advance button as well as by dragging.
3. Known limitations
Reordering the stages of a hiring pipeline currently works by dragging only. If that’s a barrier for you, contact us and we’ll make the change for you while we build a keyboard alternative.
4. Feedback
We welcome feedback on how accessible Ascent is, and on any barrier you run into. Email us at ascentapplications.assist@gmail.com and tell us what you were trying to do and where it got in the way. We aim to respond within 5 business days and will tell you what we’ll do about it.
5. Accessible formats
On request, we’ll provide any of our pages or documents, including this statement and our policies, in an accessible format or with communication supports, at no cost, and in a timely way that takes your needs into account. Email ascentapplications.assist@gmail.com to ask.
6. Hiring companies
Companies hiring through Ascent are responsible for their own accommodation obligations during recruitment, such as offering accommodations for interviews. Ascent lets them include that information in their postings and application questions.
